Phoenix PD Employee Assistance Unit
Session overview:
Employee Assistance Unit: Discussion on employee wellness and how to build an employee wellness detail. The presentation will include response to a critically injured employee/line of duty death, examples of employee wellness issues, and partnerships/relationships that will help when an employee is in crisis. The focus is not only getting officers through their policing careers, but to have a path, so they can enjoy a long and happy life post-retirement also.
Bio:
Jared has served with the Phoenix Police Department for 17 years. He has spent the last two and a half years supervising the department’s Employee Assistance Unit. The Employee Assistance Unit enhances the emotional, physical, financial and mental well-being of the department’s approximately 3,800 employees and their family. The Employee Assistance Unit consists of seven detectives, a sergeant, a contracted psychological team, over 90 person CISM/Peer Support Team, and four chaplains. Jared assisted with the selection processes for the city’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and the department’s psychological team. jared.lowe@phoenix.gov
