Session Summary:

Managing Successful Projects & Innovation:   Discussion on how project management, project administration, and continuous improvement techniques can be applied to increase clarity and the likelihood that projects of all sizes and complexities will have more successful outcomes. Some of the many tools and concepts to be covered are project-prioritization, scope, team skills assessments, stakeholder analysis, risk assessments, tracking, reporting, and Lean Six Sigma.

Daren Wunderle, Sergeant – Phoenix Police Department

Bio:

Daren is a 19-year veteran of the Phoenix Police Department, currently assigned to the Professional Standards Bureau where he has conducted investigations surrounding officer-involved shootings, use of force incidents, and alleged officer misconduct. 

He serves on the City Manager’s Advance Phoenix Team.  The team applies Lean & Six Sigma principles to solve large-scale, cross-functional problems throughout the City of Phoenix. Projects include Strategic Sourcing, Public Safety Public Records Request Processes, and the Arrest to Court Improvement Initiative.  Daren also serves on the City of Phoenix Healthcare Task Force and the Arizona PSPRS Defined Contribution Committee.

Detective Seth Zacharias - Phoenix Police Department

Bio:

Seth has served ten years on the Phoenix Police Department. Currently, Seth is one of the principal project administrators for the City’s AdvancePHX interdepartmental process improvement initiative seeking to increase efficiency in the arrest-to-court process. Seth has a bachelor’s degree in law enforcement administration, a master’s degree in interpersonal & organizational leadership, and is currently pursuing a second master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology.
