Compliance Program Implementation

Session Overview:
Susan will provide an overview of key components to implementing a successful compliance/internal audit program for both small and large public safety agencies.

Susan Redmond, MSW Colorado Department of Public Safety

Bio:
Susan Redmond is the Chief Compliance Officer for the Colorado Department of Public Safety’s (CDPS) Compliance and Professional Standards Office. Prior to CDPS, she served as the Compliance and Audit Director for the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office in Grand Junction, Colorado.

A Certified Colorado Peace Officer, a Department of Justice (DOJ) PREA Auditor, a National Certified Internal Affairs Investigator/Supervisor, and an Assessor for the Colorado Chiefs of Police (CACP) and County Sheriffs of Colorado (CSOC) Professional Standards Committee, she brings a wealth of experience in public safety, law enforcement, criminal justice, policy, accreditation and judicial review. Susan has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Colorado State University and is adept at navigating the unique culture and exigencies of the law enforcement world. She is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Susan is married with four sons and lives in a small mountain community west of Denver. She enjoys the great outdoors; hiking and kayaking with her family and spending time at the family cabin.
